Soaked

We had monsoon rains today. This picture was taken out of my office window shortly before noon. The building we are in houses a floor mat company. It’s in an industrial part of Dallas. Very unglamorous. The streets around here have no storm drains, only ditches. There are houses interspersed among the car repair shops and landscaping companies. Across the street from us in one such house. Our window overlooks our parking lot and their yard.
In this photo you can see that their yard is completely submerged, as is the street. The water sheeted over our parking lot, but our cars were never in danger. I’m just glad it didn’t hail.
