My mom is coming here for her birthday in June. I spied the perfect present for a Texas transplant with a garden. I just hope it makes it home without breaking.

Today at lunch I sat in my car with the windows rolled down and reclined the seat. Soon it will get too hot to do that, so I must take advantage. I shot some pictures of clouds out my window. I was also startled by a bird zooming through my car! Good thing I was reclining or I might have gotten a mouth full of feathers.
These have been “enhanced” in Photoshop:

The trumpet vine at my office. In the winter it looks dead. Now it’s leafed out and in full bloom.

Clouds through my car window as I was driving.

Clouds through my sun roof. I aimed blindly with the cell phone because I was driving.

My neighbors have paper lanterns hanging on their back patio. They look great, so of course I had to get some. I went to Target tonite and bought a package. Assembling them was kind of a pain, but they look great. Right now I’m sitting out here enjoying the night with my cat Tucker.

Yesterday I sat in my car and ate lunch. It’s rained a lot so there’s still big puddles on the sides of the road my office is on. The birds love to bathe in these puddles. There’s two pairs of cardinals that nest somewhere near. The two males often go at it over the puddles. A black cat also lives in the neighborhood. I don’t know if it belongs to anyone or not. Yesterday it was hunting something in a pile of trees limbs. As kitty sauntered off, a squirrel on the telephone wire chattered angrily at him.
There’s a pallet outside the back door to my office. The back door is near the bathrooms, and it’s kept open during the day. It opens onto the neighboring landscape business, so all you see is potted plants and trees. One day it was covered in pill bugs. It was like they were having a convention.
